Vacation Bible School
Our week with Maple Valley Presbyterian Youth is always awesome as we see children’s lives touched by the Lord Jesus.
Preregistration is advertised in the weeks before VBS.
These churches have taken part in putting on this event in the past:
- Cashmere Presbyterian Church
- Cashmere Community Church
- Grace Lutheran Church
- St. James Episcopal Church
One of the leaders gives the message during the church service on the Sunday the Maple Valley Youth Group arrives. Each year, it switches between Cashmere Presbyterian Church and Cashmere Community Church.
The annual Pie & Ice Cream Social is usually held that evening to kick off the week-long events.
Maple Valley Youth
Since 1989, the Maple Valley Presbyterian Church’s Youth Ministry has been leading this week-long experience for children in grades K-12. We usually have 130 youth from the Cashmere-area.
“Every summer a group of senior high students travels over the mountains toward Wenatchee to the small town of Cashmere, WA.
We sleep at a church and plan a Vacation Bible School for the elementary-aged children in the mornings and a youth group for junior and senior high students in the evening.
In between the two activities we travel over to the Columbia River and spend the afternoon relaxing on the shore, tubing, water-skiing, wake-boarding, or riding in the boat.
There is always some quality worship time at night with our group and God definitely challenges students on this trip.” (From their website)
