FINANCE & STEWARDSHIP
This Ministry serves important functions…
• to oversee church finances
• to educate and inform the congregation on stewardship opportunities
We, of the Finance & Stewardship Ministry, are blessed to be able to serve our church in this way.
We welcome those who would like to join us in this important work.
FINANCE
Operating Budget –
In the fall of each year, we develop an operating budget for the upcoming year – with input from the Session, the Personnel committee, and the individual ministries.
The Session approves the Budget in December, which is then presented at a Congregational Meeting in early January, with the members voting on the compensation plan for our pastor.
Under the leadership of an Elder, the ministry meets monthly to review the financial statements prepared by our Church Treasurer.
For the most part, our financial results are close to budget, so we rarely need to take special steps to get back on track. However, the need occasionally arises, which leads us to make recommendations to the Session…the final authority on church finances. Our financial reporting is audited annually and always passes with top marks.
Finance Report –
Throughout the year, we keep the congregation informed about the financial condition of the church.
Every several months, a member of our ministry will update the congregation with a “Minute for Stewardship” during our regular Sunday service.

STEWARDSHIP
Being a Good Steward –
Our church does not conduct an annual “Pledge” campaign. We discuss this every few years, but it has not been part of our church tradition, and we’ve never felt a compelling need to do so.
Instead, as the year comes to a close, our approach is to inform the congregation of our financial needs and ask our members to give prayerful thought to their church giving for the coming year.
Pastor Chuck assists us with one of several “Stewardship” sermons he gives during the year. Through the grace of God, we have been blessed with generous giving from our members and have been able to meet all our financial challenges.
Offering During Christmastime
We encourage you to participate in the “Christmas Joy Offering” during the month of December.
